Directions to our Farm

Road directions to the Broadened Horizons Organic Farm.

 

We are now located in SW Virginia, on the northwest side of Floyd County, just a few miles from Pilot, VA. 24138

BE AWARE: GPS only gets you

close by, so use these directions!

 

From the traffic light in the town of Floyd:

Take highway 221 north (.7) miles to Christiansburg Pike (615) left turn
Follow Christiansburg Pike for 7.7 miles, turn right on Bethlehem Church Road  (679) (at the bottom of a long, steep hill).
Go .6 miles and turn left onto Laurel Creek Rd. NE (672) (gravel) and go 1.4 miles until you come to our entrance and farm sign (#711). Head up the steep hill in low gear and follow the driveway back around to the barnyard and parking area.


From Interstate 81 Northbound & Southbound

Take exit 114 and go south on Route 8 -Riner Rd. (4.6 miles) to Union Valley Rd. (669) [Riner P.O. is on right side] & turn left.  Follow to the end (4.3 miles)
At the stop sign, turn right onto Pilot Rd. (615) and head up Pilot Mtn. Continue over the mountain and down the backside.

After passing the Pilot Post Office on the left, continue straight on; this road name changes to High Rock Hill Rd. (now 612)
After approx. 5 miles (from P.O.) on (612) turn right on McNeil Hill Rd. (671) and follow to end. (1.0 miles)

At the stop sign, turn right onto Laurel Creek Rd. (672) and go 1.7 miles. Road goes from paved to gravel. Driveway is on the left #711, with a red wood fence entrance & signage. Head up the steep hill in low gear and follow the driveway back around to the barnyard and parking area.

 

From Christiansburg / Blacksburg

Business Rt 460 East into the old town section of Christiansburg which will become Franklin Street. Continue East past the new Public Safety Bldg. through 2 traffic lights and up the hill on Franklin St. This road will eventually become Pilot Rd. (615) and will head up over Pilot Mtn.  At the top of the mountain is the Pilot Mt Grocery store. Head down the mountain and at the bottom will be the Pilot Post Office on the left, continue straight on; this road name changes to High Rock Hill Rd. (now 612)
After approx. 5 miles (from P.O.) on (612) turn right on McNeil Hill Rd. (671) and follow to end. (1.0 miles)

At the stop sign, turn right onto Laurel Creek Rd. (672) and go 1.7 miles. Road goes from paved to gravel. Driveway is on the left #711, with a red wood fence entrance and signage. Head up the  steep hill in low gear and follow the driveway back around to the barnyard and parking area.

 

From Roanoke - (non interstate route)

Take 221 South to Floyd County. Turn right onto Daniels Run Rd. (610) and proceed west. At approximately mile 6, the road forks and here bear to the left. The road number will change to (612) .

Continue on (612) another 1.3 miles to Laurel Creek Rd. NE (672) At Daniels Run Rd & Laurel Creek Rd intersection, make a left turn onto Laurel Creek Rd. NE (672). This is a DANGEROUS INTERSECTION on top of a blind, 2 sided hill, DO NOT TURN LEFT  until you crest the hill on Daniels Run Rd. (at GEARHEARTS Garage) and check for oncoming traffic.

Proceed on Laurel Creek Rd. NE (672) for 2.5 miles. Road goes from paved to gravel. Pass by the  Lovell Rd. intersect and about 400 yards south, our driveway (#711) is on the left (red painted wood fence entrance with signage). Head up the steep hill in low gear and follow the driveway back around to the barnyard and parking area.
